The Senior
Celebrity Project was launched in 1997
by the Edmonton-Metcalfe County Chamber
of Commerce in an effort to gain
recognition for outstanding Metcalfe
County High School Students in the areas
of Art, FFA, FCCLA, DECA, STLP, Female
Athlete, Male Athlete, Band, Academic
Team, 4-H and Top Scholars. The
recipient of the chamber of commerce
$500 Scholarship is also included in the
program.
The
students are chosen by the staff of the
Metcalfe County High School and are
invited to a banquet conducted by the
Chamber of Commerce. Each student may
invite their parents and a teacher who
they feel has been most influential in
their lives.
Individual
8x10 color photographs of each recipient
are prominently displayed for one year
on the Senior Celebrity Wall in the
Board of Directors Room in the Chamber
Building.
This program would
not be possible without the generous

Store, Coca Cola Bottling and Edmonton
State Bank.
The Metcalfe
County Educator of the Year is
also honored at the banquet. The first
educator so honored was Becky Nunnally,
followed by Carol Perkins, Faye Garrett,
Kelly Bell, Ronnie Smith, Allen Trotter
& Runell Clemmons. |
