Metcalfe County is proud to have Dr. Benny Lile return �home� as superintendent of schools.  Dr.Lile graduated from Metcalfe County High School and began his teaching career at North Metcalfe Elementary.

 

 

 

The Metcalfe County School System provides primary and secondary education to the residents of Edmonton and Metcalfe County, consisting of a newly constructed Primary Center for students in preschool through second grade, Metcalfe County Intermediate Center serving students in grades three through five, Metcalfe County Middle School grades 6-8, Metcalfe County High School for grades 9-12, and Metcalfe County Virtual School. The county offers additional educational programs for different ages, including a Migrant Program, an adult education program, Head Start, and community education.

 

 

 

Metcalfe County also has two private schools. Wisdom Faith Christian Academy hosts Preschool through ninth grades.  Savoyard Christian Academy offers classes from pre-school through twelfth grade. Wisdom Faith Christian Academy, located in the community of Wisdom in western Metcalfe County, and Savoyard Christian Academy located in northern Metcalfe County,  offer an alternative to public education.

 

There are area technology centers (ATC) providing secondary technical training near Edmonton. Green County ATC in Greensburg; Monroe County ATC in Tompkinsville; and Barren County ATC in Glasgow. The nearest technical colleges providing post-secondary technical training are Bowling Green Technical College, Glasgow Campus, in Glasgow; and the Elizabethtown Technical College in Elizabethtown.

 

There are also a number of colleges and universities within driving distance of Metcalfe County. Western Kentucky University, located in Bowling Green, offers many degrees and programs through which students can obtain a higher education. Western Kentucky University also has a secondary campus in Glasgow. Other post-secondary educational institutions include Lindsey Wilson College, located in Columbia, and Campbellsville University.
